Find a New Comfort Zone

Comfort zone written on road

It’s easy to get stuck in a rut-and even the most pleasant routine can get stale with time. I am not advocating change for change’s sake, however. I’m saying that comfort zones serve a real purpose in our lives: they provide a modicum of stability, they insulate us from sometimes harsh realities, they provide a means to unite groups of individuals, and they give meaning to otherwise random elements,

How can you decide when your comfort zone has reached its limits? It’s really not that hard, because routines have their peaks and valleys just like our relationships do. When something that used to give order and meaning to your life begins to feel like a burden, and is accompanies by increased dread, it’s a sure sign that the comfort zone is reaching its apex for your life. That, plus a gut feeling on your part that something doesn’t feel right, or something is missing, should alert you to start thinking about change.

We all know that change can be threatening: one of the  biggest challenges facing everyone in these times is the ultra rapid pace of  change in our lives and situations. In this environment, changing a comfort zone can seem not just laborious and intimidating, but possibly unnecessary too. Don’t let external events stop you from considering this change in your personal life:   world events, the media, and the human proclivity towards fear and negativity, are not reasons to stop you. Look within, find your sense of courage, and make that change: the initial dislocation will give rise to renewed happiness and hope.
